Posted on January 24th, 2010 by admin in metal | 2 Comments »

I have a metal water bottle at home which I bought about 3 yrs ago, but never used. We are out of plastic water bottles to freeze and I this metal one I have would probably be more conveinient then your average water bottle. Is it safe to freeze?

Thanks in advanced.

Just keep the lid off during the freezing process to allow for expansion of the water freezing.=)

How would you go about finding the amount of energy released when lighting a candle?

Posted on January 24th, 2010 by admin in released | 1 Comment »

At school I have to do a thermochemistry challenge and I have no idea what to do! I have to find how much energy is released when lighting a candle. Any suggestions?

if you know the reaction that takes place, you can use bond enthalpies or enthalpies of formation to calculate the energy. but just lighting a candle, I don’t know how you could apply that…

Is heavy metal one of the tools used by Satan to prepare people for the coming of the AntiChrist?

Posted on January 22nd, 2010 by admin in heavy metal | 8 Comments »

I referring to the AntiChrist in the Book of Revelation. I feel that the growing popularity of heavy metal in our recent decades is not a coincidences. Many composers of metal music claimed that a lot of their music were inspired by some unseen forces. We also can’t ignore the fact that pro devil and anti God themes are heavily embedded in most metal music.

.
Most definitely !

As is the majority of so-called Christian-rock music !

For music to be acceptable it must praise God in lyrics and melody.

May God bless you as you study His Word

How good is the average high-school guitarist?

Posted on January 22nd, 2010 by admin in guitarist | 4 Comments »

I have been playing guitar for a few years and I like the level that I’m at now, but there are a lot of other guitarists at my school (9th grade) and I have never heard or seen any of them play, so I don’t know where I stand in comparison. I know you probably wouldn’t be able to answer this because you don’t know me or anyone at my school, but in general, how good is your average high-school guitarists? And at what point are you an exceptionally good high school guitarist?

It is all according to your level of dedication and amount of practice. I myself am in 11th grade and I have been playing for eh I’d say about a year and a half. I play in a local band and my band has a small contract with a local record company… kinda gives you a bit of an idea of my level of playing. I spend at least 3 hours a day going through keys and pentatonic scales and just playing random songs I’ve learned over the time I’ve played… then there is about oh say the 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours i practice with the rest of the band. I would say the average high-school guitarist should atleast be able to play bits of stuff from Avenged Sevenfold and Bullet For My Valentine… not sure if your into these bands but if not find something that equals their difficulty and try messing around with that and man for sure learn your blues pentatonic scales it seems boring and all but it helps in soloing and the such… hope that helps man!

Any tips for a vocalist who desperately needs to get her voice back by tomorrow?

Posted on January 22nd, 2010 by admin in vocalist | 3 Comments »

Ive had a bad cold for a few weeks, with a ton of coughing, and my voice is shot. I have a gig tomorrow night, and need some tips or secrets people may have used to get their voices back. Thanks!

Ok, first of all……..stop talking, completely!! Drink lots of hot water with honey and lemon. It can be tea, but the hot water will do better than tea. Also, go into a hot shower and inhale all the steam, that’ll clear your head and nasal passages, and stop the drainage down your throat which is doing damage. Good luck tomorrow, I’ll say a prayer for you. God bless.

My sister just got a Singer Esteem 1732 sewing machine, and she’s having a little trouble getting it started, specifically, with threading the needle. She can’t really understand the instructions or the diagrams. Any ideas?

check this web site to see if your make is there. If not you can always drop in or call a singer sewing center for that info.

What are the advantages of using metal studs in a home?

Posted on January 22nd, 2010 by admin in metal | 5 Comments »

I am considering having a home built and I am leaning towards using metal studs as opposed to the traditional wood ones.
Anybody with any experiance in this area? Comments, suggestions!?!?!
Any problems with wiring or radio/tv reception? Lightning? Static problems? I was told early metal studs caused grime & dust to be attracted to the walls…
The termite issue is one of my main concerns being that I live in the South. I also am considering metal studs because of the lessened fire risks & cheaper insurance rates.
Fire and Ice – that is an interesting point that I would have never though of. Thanks for letting me know!

On top of the reduced risk of termite infestation, there’s the fire resistance factor, no warpage, twisting, moving because of moisture absorption, and the fact that they are all straight when they are installed. Metal is being more widely used every day in the building trades and is proving itself worthy. Besides, it saves some of our trees.

What is the longest you have ever waited for a book to be released?

Posted on January 22nd, 2010 by admin in released | 7 Comments »

I have waited 5 long years for Silas House’s fourth book, ‘Eli the Good’, and it’s finally going to be released on the 22nd of this month!

What is the longest you have waited for a book to be released? Are you waiting for any books to be released right now? I’m currently waiting for:

The New York Regional Mormon Singles Dance by Elna Baker (available in October)

and

A Million Miles in A Thousand Years by Donald Miller (available later this month)

I remember waiting for each new installment of The Green Mile when I was a kid (I still can’t believe I went through a Stephen King phase) and then Harry Potter of course, I’m a total Potter nerd. I waited for three hours in a grocery store to get Deathly Hallows. I forced myself to wait between installments of His Dark Materials because I wanted to build up anticipation because I loved it so much.
