Left 4 Dead 2 is released!!

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by admin in released | 25 Comments »

Here it is, my first official game in Left 4 Dead 2 on the first level of Dead Center

I’m going to be playing and recording a lot in the next few weeks and if I have the time I might start to compile them into a funny montage or two…

So far from what I’ve seen, Valve has tried to give the game more of a time line feel where each character learns about the new infected and items as they come along. So far its worked out pretty well and its fun to see our characters calling the hunters “hoodies” and the jockies “freaks”. I also noticed how valve has made an extra effort at making each level unique in at least one way. This has been a great addition with different types of gauntlet points and even some pretty funny easter eggs. I’ll make a video of more when I have time.

Why do Christianity think rock n roll is the Devil’s music?

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by admin in rock music | 19 Comments »

I’m just asking because in the early days of rock n roll, the Christians were saying that rock music
is the Devil’s music.

…because it was very expressive and christians hate freedom of expression.

Is the Everything Axe pickup set good for playing heavy metal?

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by admin in heavy metal | 1 Comment »

I want a set that will make my squire into the most possibly versatile guitar I can afford and the SD Everything Axe seems to be the best choice i just want to know if they can handle stuff like Iron Maiden,Metallica, Ratt, and other heavy metal.

P.S. The other set i was looking into was the Lace Sensor Red-Blue-Silver but SD has a better name and better reviews

those pickups might work, but on a squire you might also need to upgrade to a locking bridge to play the heavy stuff and stay in tune.

How to connect metal coupling to plastic pipe?

Posted on February 28th, 2010 by admin in metal | 7 Comments »

I have a leak on the inlet to my toilet cistern. I have bought a replacement metal coupling which I connected ok to the mains plastic pipe, but when I connect to the plastic threaded pipe attached to the inlet valve it leaks. What should I usse to prevent the leakage?

PTFE Tape. Like this:

http://www.plumbworld.co.uk/ptfe-tape-171-0000
http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9265394&fh_location=%2f%2fcatalog01%2fen_GB&fh_search=ptfe&fh_eds=%c3%9f&fh_refview=search&ts=1199488473747&isSearch=true

Wrap it around the thread and then screw it in. Try to get it going the right way (with the thread) so that when you screw it on the tape does not unwind.

How can you get rid of the main vocals of a song leaving only the background and backup vocals behind?

Posted on February 26th, 2010 by admin in vocals | 4 Comments »

Is there any free programs that can edit a song leaving only the background music and supporting vocals?

Basically this cannot be done.
If you had a billion-dollar recording studio, this still could not be done.

You see, when they record music in a studio they record each "part" (vocals, bass, drums etc) on a separate channel. However, by the time it reaches you the consumer, all these tracks (sometimes hundreds of them) are mixed down to just two channels (left and right). If you have the original multi-track recordings then muting one channel is easy, but with the copy that you have you can only mute the left or the right. This leaves you with one last (and notoriously awful) option – to try and filter out the frequency ranges in question. Firstly this needs a reasonable amount of knowledge about sound itself, but it also hardly ever gets acceptable results.

Sorry to burst your bubble :(

Can I directly start learning with electric guitar instead of acoustic?Am a fan of rock music&love elec guitar?

Posted on February 26th, 2010 by admin in rock music | 12 Comments »

Hi, I am an ardent listener to rock and heavy metal music. I am planning to learn guitar. But the tutors that I find here teach acoustic guitar. Can I directly learn electric guitar instead of learning acoustic guitar first? Please advise

I learned on acoustic then got an electric later. I think that works best. Although, if you don’t even like acoustic music, just go with electric. Play what you like so you’ll be sure to stick with it. That’s the important thing really. It doesn’t do you any good to buy an acoustic and then quit in 2 months because you aren’t enjoying it.

OKAY, first of all, DONT listen to this kid talking about the Emg’s. emg’s ALWAYS sound the same no matter what guitar you put them in. if you want actual TONE, then ceramic magnet pickups are the way to go. If you are looking for a good humbucker to put in the bridge position, i would say the dimarzio PAF pickups, Seymour Duncan JB pickups, or the Seymour duncan SCREAMIN demon. those all kick MAJOR ass for metal. stay heavy bro.
