How would you go about finding the amount of energy released when lighting a candle?
At school I have to do a thermochemistry challenge and I have no idea what to do! I have to find how much energy is released when lighting a candle. Any suggestions?
if you know the reaction that takes place, you can use bond enthalpies or enthalpies of formation to calculate the energy. but just lighting a candle, I don’t know how you could apply that…
