   You obviously didn’t read my post very carefully. I said I thought he was intelligent (not intellectual). And I said that I thought this before I saw him on Oprah Winfrey. And it was from seeing other interviews, not from his singing. But I couldn’t cite anything specific that gave me this feeling.

   Most Americans would surely recognize a word like ’superlatives’ but most would not be likely to use it in a sentence. I didn’t credit the Filipino education system. He wasn’t in it for long.

    Americans are smart, im filipino and i will say that philippine education system may be one of the worst education i the world.

    like i said im an american i do have that word on my “fingertip”
    you can’t judge someones intelligence by them saying a word that sounds “smart”

    There’s something about Arnel’s performances that made me conclude that he is a very intelligent guy even though I could never put my finger on it. But recently, I saw a clip of him on Oprah. There he quite casually and correctly used the word “superlatives.” I have to ask how many Americans have a word like that at our fingertips. Yet English is his second language, and his level of education is, by American standards, is seriously deficient.

    Now I have more than intuition. He’s a smart guy.

    @TeeHeeiluvu of course he can’t replace Steve Perry because they’re totally different from each other but we can’t say if who’s greater and who’s not, what matters is JOURNEY is still rocking it, thanks to AP right?

    @NoSteveNoJourney your username suggest that you really can’t hear JOURNEY without SP “but” remember Mister, they wouldn’t be legends if they’re not whole as a band. Get it?
