How do I record my vocals in mixcraft without recording music in the background?

Posted on January 19th, 2010 by admin in vocals | 2 Comments »

everytine I play an instrumental and pressing record to record myself, I always get my vocals recorded and so as the background instrumental playing. and it all turns up bad.. I just want my vocals to record on one track and the instrumental separated to the other track. anyone help???

ps: im only using a mic that straight up connects to the pink hole in the computer. do i need anything else that might help my problem get solved?

thanks in advanced

If the sound is coming in through the microphone, headphones are the answer (as the other person posted). If that’s not the problem, you’ve got the wrong recording source selected. Click on the little arrow next to the Arm button on the recording track and select your microphone. Do not select anything general like "stereo mix" or "what you hear." Choosing the correct recording source here will fix this problem.

    Get some headphones..
While you are about to record vocals, put them in and put them on..
That way you can still hear the music and not get the background..
    Good-Luck..
