How do you only get the vocals to a song?

I know about the countless ways to take vocals out, but how do I take everything else out and leave only the vocals?
And is there a free way to do this, like with Audacity?

You can adjust the EQ / Frequencies with Audacity , Abelton , Pro Tools ect….You would CUT the bass and adjust the high and midrange. You will never get an Accapella. You need the Master copy of the track.Or see if the song has a 12" release they usually have the accapella.

You can look forward to this in the near future for MP3’s…..

This will allow you to take out just the vocals , or a certain instrument in the song.
