Yes it is possible to remove the vocals software such as Sony sound forge can be do it. It is painful and lengthy process though. Also from my experience if your doing an event important as a wedding you should stick with the purchase of a karaoke CD with the song on it, or just find the instrumental version of the CD. No software will get you a perfect editing of vocals, especially if there is back ground music to the vocals.
References :
The best way is to just search for an "instrumental" of the song. If you're good at finding music on the net, you can do it yourself, or get somebody that is good at it. Just search like you would for any other song, but include the word 'instrumental'.

There are some equalizers that attempt to remove vocals from songs, but I've heard them before, and it doesn't get them out totally, and it distorts the music a little bit.
